Who We Are

Opal Partners Group, LLC (OPG) is an operations consulting firm founded by Cary Matthews. Cary has extensive experience leading customer operations, sales operations, and other functions in small and mid-sized businesses for the past fifteen years.

Prior to starting OPG, Cary was COO at Trextel, LLC, a multi-technology solutions provider in the Atlanta area that performed installation, project management, and managed services for Fortune 500 companies servicing their edge networking needs including routers, firewalls, wireless access points, digital signage, point of sale systems, and telephony systems.  In that role, Cary led the project management, support services, accounting and human resources departments.  At Trextel, he restructured the project management and support services teams to increase employee utilization and efficiency, reduced time to invoice, improved cash flow through new vendor agreements, formalized employee coaching and other human resources practices, and implemented new enterprise software to integrate disparate sales, operations, and accounting software packages into a single system.

Other roles include:

Executive Vice President of Richardson Technology Systems, a low voltage systems integration company where he had responsibility for operations, sales, accounting, and engineering
Director – Customer Operations for Intelitix, a software-as-a-service company
Account Executive and Sales Operations Manager – BellSouth Business Systems.  Cary was twice named a Peak Performer and held roles in inside and outside sales, project management, and sales operations
Senior Consultant for The North Highland Company and ColdStream Solutions

Cary earned a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering and a Master in Business Administration, both from Auburn University.  As an undergraduate student, he participated in the co-op program where he wrote software to test the attack radar of the F-111 for the United States Air Force.

Other activities include serving as a member of the MBA Advisory Board for Anderson University, board member and treasurer for Vision USA, and a member of Vistage International from 2005 – 2009.  He has taken professional development classes at MIT and Georgia Tech.
